Chartering a private jet costs between €1,600 and €15,550 per flight hour depending on the aircraft category, before airport fees. In practice: a Paris – Nice in a turboprop runs €6,900 to €10,100 one way for 1h 54m of flight, a London – Dubai from €49,300 for 6h 52m. The price is for the whole aircraft, whatever the number of passengers.

Private jet cost per hour, by category
The hourly rate is the first driver of the price: it quadruples between a light jet and a long-range one. These rates exclude airport fees: landing, parking and handling fees are billed per leg, from a few thousand euros on a light jet to some 15,000 on a long-range one. They are included in every per-route price on this page.

A private jet is billed by flight hour, taxi and approach included. Paris – Nice is 1h30, Paris – Dubai over 6h: the price follows.

The aircraft category
Under 2.5 hours of flight, a turboprop costs a little less than a very light jet, with twice the seats; Very Light and Light jets are enough for up to 7 passengers within Europe; beyond roughly 3,000 nautical miles or 10 passengers you need a heavy or long-range jet, 2 to 4 times the hourly rate; above 16 passengers, a VIP airliner.

Positioning
If no aircraft is based at your departure airport, one flies in empty from a nearby base and that leg is billed. This is why the same route sometimes costs less in one direction than the other.

The date
Monaco Grand Prix, Cannes Festival, year-end holidays, school breaks: on those dates demand exceeds supply and prices rise by a few percent. Our calculator accounts for it.

Round trips and empty legs: how to pay less
On a round trip, positioning is billed only once: the aircraft waits for you and flies back with you. That is where a round trip costs less than 2 one-ways, departing from an airport with based aircraft there is nothing to save, and it comes to twice the flight time. An empty leg is an aircraft that has to reposition anyway: up to 75% off, provided you are flexible on date and time. Our brokers offer them whenever one exists on your route.

Is the price per person or per aircraft?
Per aircraft. A 6-seat jet costs the same with 1 or 6 passengers on board; the price per seat therefore drops as you fill it.
What does the displayed price include?
The aircraft and crew, fuel, landing and parking fees, handling and a light catering on board. Passenger taxes, special catering, transfers and winter de-icing are added on the firm quote.
Why does the price change with the date?
Demand is not the same in February and during the Monaco Grand Prix. On peak dates fewer aircraft are available and operators adjust their rates by a few percent.
Does a round trip cost twice as much?
Rarely exactly double. If the aircraft waits for you and flies back with you, positioning is billed only once: that is what makes a round trip cheaper than 2 one-ways. Departing from an airport where operators base aircraft, there is no positioning to save and the round trip comes to twice the flight time. Route pages show both prices.
What is an empty leg and how much does it save?
A repositioning flight: the aircraft must move before or after a client flight, and the operator would rather sell it at a discount than fly empty. Up to 75% off, on a fixed date and time.
Is a broker more expensive than booking an operator directly?
Not necessarily. A broker earns a commission included in the price, but puts several operators in competition on the same flight and takes the best-placed aircraft, which avoids paying for positioning; a single operator only offers its own fleet, wherever it happens to be.
